Page 38-02 (R2)
- Washer-00020 is potentially mislabeled, and not searchable in the Vans Store, it is also known as washer 5610-18-31.
Page 38-05 (R0)
- Landing-light harness (4-pin Series 1): Most likely this connector is cut off to direct wire to the Flyleds landing light. If wanting to connect via a plug, the harness end is a 206060-1 female plug; it needs a 4-pin male receptacle such as 206153-1, available as free-standing, flange-mount or board-mount. Source. See SECTION 05: General Information for more information on the CPC connectors.
- The bushing for the wire (most likely BUSHING SB375-4) does not seem to be supplied with the wing kit or called out in the KAIs. 2 additional (1 left wing, 1 right wing) bushings are required if using the hole for the wire and should be requested from Vans.
Page 38-06 (R0)
- W-15044-001 may be shipped dimpled, and not requiring a countersink. If dimpled, dimpling the nut plates has proven successful.
- If W-15044-001 is not dimpled, it requires countersinks for the small-head rivets (NAS1097) you don't need to dimple the nutplates. Step 1 on P 38-06 is only for the rivet holes, not the larger holes for the screws.
- Recommend painting these black once riveted together.
Page 38-07 (R0)
- The acrylic lens cover holes are not countersunk, nor is this called for in the KAIs. But you do need to countersink the acrylic in order to match with the dimpled holes in the wing skin.
Page 38-10 (R0)
- Only two W-15047-001 are provided in the kit for the left wing, but 4 W-15040A-001 are provided (2 for the left and 2 for the right). It seems like the kit should ship 18x W-15040-001 and 2x W-15040A-001, instead of 16 and 4 respectively (as stated on the Packing List Quick Build Wing Tanks). Contact Van's if you are short the 2x additional W-15040-001s.
